Four Photos

Skyline view from the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

A neon sign by American artist Bruce Nauman in the museum’s “modern art” section.

Sculpture by Jacob Epstein outside of the museum, titled “Social Consciousness.” Underneath the title is engraved a line by Walt Whitman, which reads: “A grand, sane, towering, seated Mother / Chair’d in the adamant of Time.”

Last few drops of coffee this morning left an imprint at the bottom of my mug which eerily resembled a big toe. (What, if anything, is that supposed to mean?)
